 In the waters of the northern Atlantic you will have a chance to see so many different species of whales from small to large and they include; Northern Bottlenose, Sperm, Long-finned Pilot, Orca, Harbour Porpoise, Humpback, Minke, Fin, Sei, Beluga Right Whale, Gray, Bryde's whale and the Blue Whale...wow! 
Killer whales are quite common, in fact the most famous killer whale, Keiko - better known as Willy, was born and caught in Icelandic waters. The beautiful clear, cold blue waters of the north Atlantic are teeming with whales due to the large amount of food for the many different species. The whales go north to "fatten up" before heading to warmer waters to mate and give birth. 
Whale watching Iceland is a must for any whale watching enthusiast. The season runs from May to September with some winter viewing as well.Iceland whale watching is growing although it is not at the point it is in other countries. But that is not to say that the number of whales are less or the beauty of these gentle giants is less...in fact you won't feel over-run by tourists.
