Cape Cod Whale Watching - the Most Romantic Place to see Whales!

Cape Cod whale watching beach

Cape Cod whale watching....what can I say? The Cape is surrounded by water and incredible beaches on three sides, making it one of the most romantic places to go whale watching in the US!

Cape Cod is synonymous with vacation! As for me and many of you I am sure.....getting up close to these majestic creatures while whale watching in Cape Cod is going to be the "best shear excitement" of your whole vacation!

Due to the abundance of marine life teeming in these waters, the whales return each year in the late winter, early spring.

While on the tour you will most likely see humpback, minke or finback whales. You may see them breaching, spyhopping or sounding. Breaching is when they leap into the air, straight out of the water. While spyhopping as if they are looking around at the sightseers with their heads held high out of the water and sounding is taking a dive.

There are many tours to choose - from Plymouth to Provincetown. Many but not all will guarantee sightings.

Cape cod whale watching takes you out to the Stellwagen Bank National Sanctuary. Over 600 square nautical miles, the sanctuary is where all the tours go since it is the favorite feeding grounds for the whales. The shallow waters there bring plankton closer to the surface making it easier for the whales to feed.

One thing is for certain, there are few things that equal the adrenaline you feel when the whale glides up to the side of the boat and you see actually how huge they really and truly are!
